Privacy Policy

Effective June 24, 2026

This policy explains what aipdfreader collects, why, and who it’s shared with. We try to collect as little as possible.

What we collect

Account info (your email and authentication data); documents you upload and the page images we render from them; and your reading progress, comprehension state, and the questions/answers you exchange with the friend.

How we use it

To provide the reading experience: render your pages, run the AI friend on the page you’re on, grade your answers, track what you’ve understood, and — if you enable it — remember your questions across sessions. We do not sell your data or use your documents to train our own models.

Who processes your data (subprocessors)

We rely on a few services to run aipdfreader:Supabase — database, authentication, and storage of your documents and rendered pages.
OpenRouter and the model provider you choose — receive the page content and your messages to generate the friend’s responses (we fund this).
Deepgram — speech-to-text and text-to-speech, only when you use voice.
Cognee — stores your questions for cross-session memory, only when that feature is enabled.
Each processes data only to provide its part of the Service.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for sign-in/session only. See the Cookie Policy.

Retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your documents at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data. Email us to exercise them.

Children

aipdfreader is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes & contact

We’ll update this policy as the product evolves; the effective date above reflects the latest version. Questions or requests: privacy@aipdfreader.ai.
